The year 2010 marked the 50th anniversary of the death of the famous Canadian painter, Mr. Frederick Simpson Coburn. In his honor, the council decided to change the name of Melbourne Park to Coburn Park.
In collaboration with the Centre Local de Développement de la MRC du Val-Saint-François and other partners, a work of art, inspired by the artist FS Coburn, was installed in the park. This art work of two horses at work (see photo), was designed by a local artist resident of the Township of Melbourne, Mr. Jean-Marc Tétrault.
